The name
The expression 'Prem Dan' comes from Bengali and has several meanings, one of which is 'house of friendship'. In Northern India, a prem dan is a place where people meet to talk and wind down after a hard day's work.
Prem Dan is also the name of one of the seven houses of the Order of Mother Teresa in Calcutta. This is where the idea of setting up the company Prem Dan was born, and from where we take our name.
